Human Behavior in the Social Environment by John F. Longres

This text provides an overview of human behavior combining the traditional concern for individual development with an examination of social systems. The author examines human behavior in the context of the larger social conflicts associated with class, race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and ability status. After describing the critical perspective, which gives primary attention to the structural origins of private troubles, and presenting an overview of the systems approach, the book focuses on communities, families, groups, and organizations as social systems.

Being used for Foundation year grad Social Work program. Can be a little dry but ok as a text..
I used this to freshen on on basic HBSE concepts for the LMSW exam. However, I would not recommend this text to others (or at least not the older version I purchased). It seems to be quite lacking in up-to-date social work perspectives and, at times, seems downright offensive.
Needed this book for school, got it at an incredibly low price compared to what the bookstores were selling. Although it is a very old book it was as though it was brand new. Definitely satisfied.
I am graduate student at one of the local Universities in New Jersey. when this book was given as one of the materials that we were going to use throughout the semester, I did not panic until I went to the book store and saw the price. immediately after class, I went to Amazon.com and start my research. It took me approximately 5 minutes before I found the book. the book arrived between 3 to 4 business days in very good condition. the whole process deserve 5 stars.
The product was delivered quickly. The book has a lot of bright green highlighting throughout the book which makes it a little diffcult to read.
