Silent Treatment : Between Medicine and Murder the Line Is Scalpel-Thin by Michael Palmer

Dr Harry Corbett is on his way to visit his estranged wife, Evie, who is scheduled for surgery the next day, for what he hopes will be a quiet evening of reconciliation. In recent weeks Evie, never quick to share her feelings, has been more closed and distant than ever. But, without warning, he arrives to find her dead in her hospital bed. The police suspect murder, and Corbett is their only suspect...Harry is unprepared for the stunning revelations that follow. Leading a double life, his beautiful wife had uncovered a deadly secret, and when the killer strikes again, Harry is once more the sole suspect. Medically sophisticated, coolly arrogant, moving undetected through a busy urban hospital, it is clear to Harry that the killer, can only be a doctor. But can he stop the killer in his tracks before any more patients receive his lethal silent treatment?

A really well-developed story that catches your interest and makes the book hard to put down. The writer's medical background enhances the story and characters, making all that much more believable. The suspense builds slowly for a while and then the action starts, leading to a super crescendo.

If you like medical thrillers. suspense, action and adventure, this is the book for you! This is the first book I've read by this author and I loved every minute of reading it I stayed up until 1:00 in the morning reading and stopped only because I had to go to work the next day. Interesting characters and challenging situations make this a great read.

I liked the intrege of the storyline but it was to wordy and had to much fluff. I like a meat and potatoe story. I have to say it held my attention to want to read the book in its interior. I like Michael Palmer books thus one just wasn't my favorite. Please keep them coming

This story is fast-paced and is a fascinating page turner. As it develops, the main characters leap off the page and become more real. The twists and turns are swift and shocking, leaving this reader to take a deep breath before moving on from one swift plot maneuver to the next.

I recommend this book highly.

Michael Palmer's books never let you down. This one was no exception. An in-depth plot, characters you loved and some you hated. A page-turner even for a seasoned reader. You can't go wrong with this one.

I am a dedicated James Patterson fan but I have also read quite a good number of Michael Palmer books. This one, "Silent Treatment" is a great read! It got so exciting in a couple of places, I had to put it down for a day or so until I got my self ready to "face the music" again. This is a really good thing in case your are wondering. (I'm generally reading more than one book a time.) My only negative... I would have chosen a different copy of this book if I had known how scuffed up, worn and yellow this copy was ahead of time. But still, the book was readable, with no torn or missing pages.

As expected from Michael Palmer. Very good plotting, somewhat believable characters. Sometimes it makes you think what were these people thinking?
The characters are lovable, the detective hateable. Lots of twists and turns. I'm never disappointed in Michael's books. Always awaiting the next one
